Resources for Performers
A curated list of small businesses, mostly performer-owned, that I personally recommend.

Bway Headshots (use code 10JON for 10% off) - Headshot & Resume Printing
A printed headshot is often casting's first impression of you and I've seen beautiful results from this lab, located inside Open Jar Studios. Don't forget to neatly trim and staple your resume to the back of your headshots!
The Hustle NYC - Each season's EPAs, ECCs, and Open Calls all in one place (and more!)
The Hustle is an all-in-one audition calendar and educational resource owned and operated by actual, actively-auditioning and performing theatre artists with their fingers firmly on the pulse on the industry. They hustle so you don't have to.
Brass Taxes - Accounting Services for Artists, by Artists.
Does your accountant give you mega side-eye when you hand in an embarrassingly massive stack of miscellaneous tax documents and receipts from your performing contracts & survival jobs? These guys eat that sh*t up. Plus, they're creatives who understand the nuances of our unusual lives. Tell 'em I sent ya.
The Wealthy Artist Co. - Financial Literacy & Planning for Artists.
Jaqueline, a NYC actress, took me from being absolutely petrified about my finances to getting excited about goal-setting, understanding saving & investing, and not feeling guilty about getting myself that little treat. She offers invaluable one-off consults or goal planning check-ins over time.
Zhicay Shoe Repair - LaDuca Repair (and other misc shoes, bags, leather, and clothing)
This tiny Astoria shop is an absolute gem. I've seen the owner return battle-worn LaDucas and other footwear to like-new condition for suspiciously low costs. I also bring him all of my sewing and patching needs and I'm convinced there's nothing he can't fix or customize.
Megan Richardson Wellness - Acupuncture & Dry Needling for Dancers
This former dancer is a pioneer in the field of dance acupuncture, having single-handedly started that very department at Harkness Center for Dance Injuries before opening her own practice in NoMad. Bonus Points: She offers significant discounts for dancers.
Too Good To Go - Cheap Meals, Snacks, and Groceries
Restaurants, cafes, and small grocers use this app to mitigate food waste by selling mystery grab-bags of extra inventory at 75-90% discounts. It's an incredible way to support local businesses, try something new with very little risk, and keep perfectly good food out of the garbage.
Katherine Menna/Rosery92 - Skincare & Women's Health Resources
This former dancer is passionate about educating women about the connection between their skin, diet, physical fitness, and reproductive health. Her no-bullsh*t skincare company is worth a gander and her instagram highlights alone could teach a college-level course on deciphering product labeling.
Kaley Were Beauty - Makeup Education & Social Media Management
You may recognize Kaley as one of our in-house makeup artists, but she does so much more than just application. She offers personalized tutorials, curated personal shopping, and she's a working musical theatre performer herself so she knows the biz inside and out.
Book That Sublet NYC - Apartment Sublets for Artists
This instagram account helps connect artists and creatives who have available rooms/apartments with other likeminded individuals who need short or long-term housing.
